Communities prosper when there are equitable opportunities to access education, housing, employment, and health care. Therefore, we make grants to organizations and initiatives that take systematic and comprehensive approaches to increasing opportunities for all to thrive in neighborhoods of their choice.

We strive to deepen understanding of poverty and prosperity in the Greater Kansas City area; to foster grantmaking that is data-driven, promotes best practices, and prioritizes multi-sector place-based approaches that are driven by those with lived experiences. We also believe that quality pre-K through post-secondary education, as well as career/technical education, provides a foundation for economic independence, and relief from the stresses of poverty, while working to reduce poverty altogether.
